Pranayama is the 4th limb in the Asthanga system of yoga and an integral part of yogic development.
Yoga practice is about creating a unity between the two forces of 'prana' and 'citta', or energy and consciousness.
Through pranayama practice we develop, strengthen and purify the flow of prana in our system to prepare us for entering the practice of dhyana, or meditation.
This workshop will introduce Pranayama as a practice to both rejuvenate the body and to explore the subtler realms of yoga.
Time: 12 - 2:30 pm
(Please arrive 15 mins early for registration)
In this series we will explore the yogic science of chakras (human energy centers) through an eight-week series. The chakra system is a comprehensive schema of universal principles and human physical and psychological development. It provides a holistic view of the bodymind system rooted in the science of subtle energy.
In this workshop you will gain a comprehensive overview of the chakra system and how it applies to yogic thought and practice. This stand-alone workshop will be tremendously valuable for practitioners of yoga and enthusiasts of science and human potential. Following the workshop, you can decide if you want to dive deeper into the yogic practice and study of the chakra system through the 8 week series taking place October-November.
